Project Executive Overview

Advanced Engineering Group Inc. (AEGI) provided comprehensive civil earthworks and wellsite pad design engineering for an oil and gas energy client in the Grande Prairie region of Alberta.

The engineering scope began with an exhaustive technical review of existing 1m LiDAR topographic survey data, aerial imagery, and underground utility scans to establish accurate baseline terrain conditions and pinpoint environmental drainage features.

Working in close collaboration with geotechnical engineers, environmental consultants, and client field operations groups, AEGI's civil engineering team developed a fully optimized proposed earthworks surface model in Autodesk Civil 3D. The design incorporates multi-well center layouts, rig mat loading platforms, perimeter runoff berms, sumps, topsoil stripping and storage pile management, as well as balanced cut-and-fill volume calculations to minimize soil hauling and environmental disturbance.
